On Monday, the first trading day of the week, the stock market opened with an increase. After that, it continued to rise and fall. Today the Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex closed at 57,593 with a gain of 231 points. At the same time, the Nifty of NSE also closed at 17,222 with a gain of 69 points. HDFC, Nestle India, and Dr. Reddy's declined in the Sensex. While Reliance, Maruti, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank were the top gainers.


The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex opened with a gain of 110 points at 57,472. It made a high of 57,638 and a low of 56,825. On the other hand, NSE Nifty opened at 17,181.


The decline in IT and Pharma indices

Out of 11 sectoral indices of Nifty, only IT (-0.35) and Pharma (-0.33) were down. On the other hand, there was a marginal gain in Bank, Auto, Finance Services, FMCG, Media, Metal, Realty, and Bank.


Share prices of multiplex players PVR and Inox

Leisure rose 5 and 16%, respectively, in early trade. This happened a day after the merger deal was announced. Inox Leisure touched a 52-week high of Rs 563.60 and PVR touched a 52-week high of Rs 2,010. Top multiplex players PVR and Inox Leisure announced the merger deal.

Out of the four major indices, 2 declined, out

of the four major Nifty indices, Next 50, Midcap declined and Financial and Bank were up. Out of its 50, only 29 stocks were up and the rest 20 were down. The major gainers were Coal India, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, Maruti, and ITC.
