According to Gadkari, to become self-reliant, we have introduced Green Hydrogen which is produced from water. This car is a pilot project. Now the production of green hydrogen will start in the country. More imports will be banned and new employment opportunities will be available.
Gadkari said that the Government of India has started a mission of 3000 crores and soon we will become a hydrogen exporting country. Wherever coal is used (in the country), green hydrogen will be used."
In January itself, the minister had told that he would soon be seen in a new hydrogen-powered car on the roads of Delhi. This car belongs to Toyota Company of Japan and the hydrogen fuel will be filled from Indian Oil Pump located in Faridabad.

Nitin Gadkari launched India's first hydrogen-based advanced fuel cell electric vehicle Toyota Mirai earlier this month. The company claims that this car can be refueled in just five minutes. This car can cover a distance of up to 646 km once the full tank is filled.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor and International Center for Automotive Technology has undertaken a pilot project to study how well the Toyota Mirai is suitable for Indian roads and climatic conditions.

If you are spending Rs 100 on petrol, you will spend Rs 10 on electric vehicles.
