The Omicron Covid-19 Variant Has Rapidly Spread Across the world and scientists are now monitoring a New Omicron Known As BA.2
BA.2 Is not a New Variant but a sub-Varient Similar to BA.1 Sub Variant, but scientists are concerned that the BA.2 Sub Variant is more transmissible than the original omicron variant.
It Has Also Been Dubbed the stealth Variant because it's harder to detect But That Does not mean BA.2 Evades Laboratory Tests.
Expert Says, it can be detected through traditional mechanisms Like Rapids Testing or PCR testing.
The New BA.2 Sub Variant Has Been found in over 60 countries including the USA (United States of America) Uk (United kingdom) India and Denmark.
So, In Denmark, it has outpaced BA.1 transmission accounting for About 65 Percent of new infections in the country but experts reiterate that there is no indication that BA.2 Causes More Severe Infections
Despite its high transmission rate the number of hospitalizations that require ICUs is decreasing in Denmark
The WHO (World Health Organization) also maintains that BA.2 is not a variant of Concern but Virologists still don't know How the sub-variant will react to vaccines and whether a person who contracted the omicron Variant Can be Re-infected by BA.2.
